- BigCommerce Customer Support is fantastic.
- BigCommerce has consistently done upgrades and improvements to their product.
- BigCommerce is affordable.
- BigCommerce is extremely customizable and has a lot of 3rd party apps to do almost anything you can imagine.
- If you're looking for a fully customizable website, this isn't for you. It is an affordable out-of-the-box solution so edits cannot be made to the main code that everyone uses. That said, you can do almost anything with the right theme and apps.
- The product promotions were lacking but they have updated that this year so this is now a PRO not a con. I expect more promotion flexibility will be coming soon.
- It would be great if ALL apps were available but it is not the fault of Bigcommerce that most apps are created for another platform first. But they usually get around to making them for BC.
BigCommerce delivers
- Easy to set up new themes
- Easy to use as an admin
- Overall fairly good customer experience
- Product returns are not easy with BigCommerce. They have to be done through QuickBooks.
- Customer look up doesn't always work like we expect. Often we will find the email address of the customer but not the physical address.
- Automatic fill-in of state and zip code would be helpful. But we would need to be able to override it.
Helped Take My Small Company to the Next Level
One of the things I like about BigCommerce was the fact they have fantastic customer service and were able to walk me through making changes to my domain name and other settings I was not sure on. They also make it really easy to build your site and list products which has made for a nice looking website, but has made the shopping on my site a lot easier for customers which has also helped increase sales which has made a huge difference!
- The customer support really is fantastic. Even with newbie questions I asked, they were quick to reply with the information I asked for, including helpful links which really made the difference in switching over and understanding what I needed to do.
- I am really thrilled with the interface and how easy it is to learn to use. From being really easy to create new pages, edit themes, and add new products, the interface takes very little time to learn. The theme editor is amazing with its WYSIWYG-style interface--I was able to create eye-catching pages in no time.
- The plug-ins you can add to your site are really handy, including shipping and payment processors like Stripe, which has just in itself helped increase my sales over using PayPal only.
- Another nice feature is the security for your site, BigCommerce is always updating things and trying to make your webstore as safe for you and your customers as possible.
- So far I have been really pleased with all aspects of BigCommerce and have not run into any problems or things I would do differently. Something small but something I can think of is in the theme editor. It would be nice to be able to add more items to a page, as I kept finding out I was running out of space when creating pages with lots of graphics/links.

BigCommerce Added a Second Income Stream To Our Business
- It's very easy to use.
- The drag and drop interface is well-suited for a non-coder like me
- They integrate to a lot of other sofwares we use, like Zapier, Klaviyo etc.
- They're great for hosting hundreds - and even thousands - of skus.
- Phone support would be a big plus
- I wish their University was included with your subscription. Instead you must pay for it seperately.
- Pre-built themes have limits to how they can be coded and customized.
Also, it's not for businesses that don't sell physical products online. If you have a service-based business, or a course/info business, there are other solutions out there.

Affordable and very usable
- They have a great WYSIWYG interface for creating webpage content.
- The software allows us to create multiple pack sizes, using different units of measure, for any or all of our products.
- It is very easy to add product categories, manipulate the top-level menu headings, and swap out graphic elements.
- We charge different packaging fees for our products, based on how they ship, so it would be nice to be able to tag a customizable packaging fee to every product. Currently, this cannot be done.
- We cannot customize how products are sorted on a page that shows all the products available within a given Product Category; the default is an alphabetical list. We would like to be able to manually prioritize how the products appear on a Product Category page.
- This is a minor annoyance, but I'll go ahead and try to describe it - When making edits to products, it would be nice to save your changes and close out of the editing interface, then be returned to where you were in your list of products. Currently, you are taken to the top of that page's list of products. So, if you're viewing 50 products, and you want to edit products 45-50, after you save each set of changes, you are taken back to the top of the list (product 1), so you have to scroll back down to edit products 46, 47, etc. Not a big deal, but thought I'd mention it.

- Support for the product at all levels is incredible
- Ease of use - our customers have adopted to our BigCommerce site more rapidly than any platform we've been on in the past. We've received consistent praise from our Customers about how easy our site is to use since we switched to BigCommerce.
- Meta field data can only be edited by the API user that originally created the data. Meta field data is the only data where the API applies this restriction and it's a big pain in the butt for us.
- BigCommerce one-page checkout is amazing but Shopify still has the best single page checkout in the industry. I would love to see BigCommerce catch up with Shopify in this area. BigCommerce smokes Shopify just about everywhere else.
- Multi-site: we keep hearing that multi-site will be available soon. This is a standard feature of Shopify+ and is a glaring shortcoming of BigCommerce. I know it's being worked on. Let's get that to market soon!
- I was disappointed to see BigCommerce have made a push into the B2B space with B2B Bundle. Not only is B2B Bundle weak, it's expensive and feels like it was shoehorned into BigCommerce. [In my opinion] its integration is poor. I wish BigCommerce would focus more on getting their multi-site operational than spending precious resources on a half-baked partnership with a marginally functional B2B solution like B2B Bundle.

- Is separate from your regular website so if your site goes down, your store won't.
- The website design portion is terrible. Very hard to update with complete confidence.
- The website template is hard to manipulate.
- Each product detail page can be completely customized. This creates pages with CSS that don't look anything like the site they're on; it's disorganized.
- BigCommerce has a very easy to use control panel.
- Online store creation and editing is robust and pretty much everything is customizable.
- Nice looking and decent built in templates.
- Never any downtime since using it.
- BigCommerce could use better account manager implementation.
- The dashboard takes some getting used to in where you can find things at first.
- Not as many third party tools as Shopify.
- Fast load time of site platform on all devices
